About the artist
What happens when you combine a true 90s kid with a multi-dimensional music producer? Turns out what you get is Tunde Junior, a African-American producer of Electronic, Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B music. Tune’s parents are of the Yoruba ethnic group of southwestern Nigeria and came to the United States from England in 1985. His father was an avid Afrobeat, Disco, Funk, House, and Jazz music collector which allowed Tune to start sampling at an early age. Earlier music releases were demos for independent artists, major video game developers and publishers in the early 2000’s (VGMix and OCRemix). In high school, he made beats for the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming “bumps”. In 2011, after a brief hiatus, Tunde’s remixes of Mike Posner’s debut album singles, “Bow Chicka Wow Wow” and “Please Don’t Go” went viral on YouTube after premiering on popular College Music outlet “GoodMusicAllDay”. Also in 2011, TUNE released The Force LP, an Instrumental album which was likened to the styles of avant-garde hip-hop producers Nujabes, Nicolay, and J Dilla. Get to know Tunde Junior. He’s not your average artist, but he’s your girl’s favorite African. David Ortega, STB
