This L.A. native learned guitar from the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante and scored a record contract as a teenager. Francis specializes in literate, hook-laden folk rock tunes that bring some grit to a sound that’s linked to such adult alt stalwarts as Jeff Buckley, Aimee Mann and Duncan Sheik.
