Troubaduo

About the artist

In 2008 Bryson & Jill met in Los Angeles, California at the Room 5 Lounge on La Brea Avenue. The duo formed Troubaduo shortly after, got married and hit the road by April 2009. From April 2009 to December 2011 Troubaduo completed 7 U.S. tours, calling the road their home. But life on the road became very challenging in 2010. Around January 2010 Bryson had developed a brain tumor, and by April 2010 the tumor had excessively grown, to where Bryson could not sleep or eat. About April 4, 2010 Bryson and Jill decided to turn to Jesus for help. Bryson and Jill began battling the sickness with the Scripture of 1 Peter 2:24 – “Jesus Himself bore our sins in His Own body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. By His stripes you have been healed.” Troubaduo confessed their sins, turned to God, accepted Jesus as God, and got reborn. (John 1:1-14, John 3, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 and Romans 10:9 = Search for Bible Gateway Website for Free Bibles Online). Refusing to accept anything other than the healing Jesus paid for according to 1 Peter 2:24, Bryson received his healing the morning of April 17, 2010, as God miraculously took the brain tumor out of his head. Since then, God has granted Spiritual gifts to Troubaduo and continued to lead and bless them in His will for their life. Troubaduo has received International radio play and press, but considers their greatest reward to be Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for any who decide to call upon Him.
After their son Jedidiah was born in December 2011, Troubaduo felt that God may be talking to them about giving their music away free of charge. Soon after, Jesus Christ came to Bryson in a dream, and explained to him He wanted Bryson and Jill to not charge for the Gospel. Feeling that God had confirmed their gut feeling to give the music away, Troubaduo removed their music from International distribution where their songs were currently for sale, and re-released only music that was based on the Scriptures of the Bible, free of charge. Though donations are appreciated and help Troubaduo’s ministry continue, the duo does not mandate anyone to give money in exchange for their music. All of Troubaduo’s music is based on the Gospel, and is free of charge, just like the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Additional information on Troubaduo, music, tour dates, images, videos, etc., may be obtained at the official Troubaduo site shown on this artist page. God bless you and may you always know that JESUS LOVES you desperately. Shalom.

Lega-c

About the artist

Lega-c isn’t a rapper. Lega-c isn’t anything you’d think he’d be. Growing up in PG County directly across the line between Maryland and Washington,DC, Lega-c refused to become a product of his environment. Surrounded by thugs, low lives, and degenerates; Lega-c was usually the outcast, the misfit, the nerd, the guy nobody liked. He was different, the way he talked the way he dressed, the way he carried himself, something was so off about this kid that it seemed to flawlessly work for him. In fifth grade Lega-c picked up a pen in class during a rainy day, and wrote a long, incoherent verse called “Titanium Man”. The class loved it and Lega-c quickly became the one the class went to when they wanted some musical entertainment. Later on, throughout grade school and college, Lega-c refined his craft and in September of 2009, released his first mixtape; “The SmarTrip Chronicles”. Though most reviews were positive, Lega-c couldn’t help but yearn for more. After his semi-success with his first project, Lega-c continued creating music and started getting notoriety throughout his local area. Since then, his buzz has grown to a monstrous level and can only go up from there. Now, Lega-c is embarking on an entirely new journey. After a long quiet period between his last project “Pulling On Her Heartstrings”, Lega-c has decided to begin working on his debut album. He refuses to fail and clearly shows this with his first single “Tuberculosis”. Join Lega-c on this ride and we promise you will not be disappointed.

Aaron Gibson

About the artist

Aaron Gibson is a singer, songwriter and bassist from the Oregon coast. Acting as vocalist and bassist for a dozen bands since childhood, but now a dedicated soloist. A few years back I spent some time working in Sighisoara, a Romanian town best know as Vlad the Impaler’s (Dracula) birthplace. For weeks I had been increasingly frustrated with my Business and my general direction in life, and while welding posts together for a sort of palisade, I resolutely cried out to God: “What on earth am I supposed to be doing with my life?” I concurrently demanded an immediate cosmic solution and expected that no eye would turn my way. A vehicle was heard in the distance and a yellowish Datson soon pulled up to the work site accompanied by small mantle of dust. The young men who stepped out delivered my long anticipated answer. “Hey, a lady up in the citadel told us that there was a bass player here. We need him!” I stopped welding at once, hopped in the Datson and went to rehearse for the gig.

Darryl Reese

About the artist

Darryl Reese was brought up the rough Midwest City of Saint Louis, MO. Influenced by sounds around him, he became heavily inspired by music from Stevie Wonder, Charlie Wilson, and Marvin Gaye. At an early age he found singing was a love. The 5th child out of 7, children Darryl grew up in a home loaded with musical talent, which gave him ample opportunity to learn instruments and techniques. Singing and touring with his church further inspired the love of singing and performing, especially after a young age he began to sing lead. A star in the making! In the late 90s he recorded a video to a song called ‘Got itGoing On’ which led to an interview with a TV show, Derrick Dizzy Demos which played on a public access cable channel. Around the same time he recorded frequently at Webster University’s recording studio with popular studio producer Tony Anthony. In 1999 he co-wrote a local hit song called ‘Get it Girl’ for a TV show called the Millennium Kick Off, which was used for licensing purposes on the large cable network BET, produced by Carlos from Purple Dragon Studios a producer for the super hip hop group GooDIE Mob. He has been in several singing groups and opened for major acts such as Too Short and Mystikal. He won a variety of talent shows around St. Louis including the major event the McDonald’s Soul Search talent show at the Club Loft. Darryl started touring with the trio band Locity outside of Missouri to shop his music as the likes of Texas a state know to embrace the Indie R&B culture. His dreams started to come true when in 2006 he was offered a deal with Slip-N-Slide Records. However by then the label wasn’t a powerhouse as it once had been and Darryl’s big opportunity all but dissolved.

Darryl moved back to St. Louis were met back up with a long time neighborhood friend and collaborator on past projects Terrance ‘Terry L’ Smith of Wydtrack Productions. The the fire and desire of music came back full force and in less than 2 weeks they had collaborated on 12 songs. Shortly thereafter Darryl was performing at local venue within weeks who feel in love with the beautiful combination of Darryl Reese’s voice and masterful production that surrounded it. In 2012 Darryl released his first official solo single 2Nite which include the songs 2Nite, Southern Belle, and 2Nite (remix) which has opened to rave reviews from ALL musical genres. He went on to release his first album ‘Everything’- -and goes from R&B to Soul to Pop to Jazz to Country to pure good ole fashioned wonderful music- -Darryl Reese music is what feelings would sound like! Discology: Everything, The Show, and Jukebox If you like John Legend,Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Keith Sweat, R. The Lighthouse and the Whaler

About the artist

The Lighthouse and the Whaler is a band from Cleveland, Ohio, though its name alludes to the waters off the coast of Massachusetts. Inspired by a theme from Moby Dick, the band’s name alone is enough to make underpaid Literature teachers beam with pride. The Lighthouse and the Whaler released a four-song EP in 2008 and a self-titled/produced/released album in 2009. With more fans to play for, The Lighthouse and the Whaler hit the road and, somewhere between Seattle and Boston, picked up three new members, thereafter, fulfilling the prophesy that was to be four young men stuffed in a van, searching for open ears and loyal hearts. The Lighthouse and the Whaler plays indie-pop and does not believe that genre labels tell you anything you need to know about a band. It has nevertheless caught the attention of MTV, Paste, FILTER, Spinner, Under the Radar, Brooklyn Vegan, Daytrotter, KEXP and other media outlets that cater to indie-pop music fans. Its new album, “This is an Adventure,” was produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Ra Ra Riot, The Walkmen). NPR Music liked it so much they named The Lighthouse and the Whaler the “next artist on the rise.” John Richards of KEXP called The Lighthouse and the Whaler his new favorite band. He may be the smartest man on the planet.

Songs of Dwight Newman (Entire Album

Doug Newman

About the artist

Welcome to my Google Play store. The Publishing rights to all my songs and albums are now available for sale. I also have my songs for sale at iTunes, etc. too, but the nice thing about Google Play is that I can upload directly to it, so I can more freely design my store. The result is I can put up more stuff – demos, alternate takes, and “albums”, that I don’t have at iTunes, etc., so there’s more selection here. Also the prices can vary, with for now a lot of free albums and songs. I’m originally from Colorado and lived in Minneapolis/St. Paul and Kansas City for a while and now live in Los Angeles. My websites (shown in the links) also has many of my songs to listen to there, and with more info about my albums. All my albums have been home produced in my home studios over the years, varying from “lo-fi” cassette recordings to more current home studio equipment. All the songs are mine except for a few covers, a few were co-written with my younger brother Dwight, “Dina’s Song (the love’s enough for now)” is Dwight’s, another – “A Parting of the Ways” is Dwight’s, and is also performed by him, “The Bug Song” was written by my youngest brother – Chad Newman, and “The Giant Tree (Climbing the Tree) was written by my Dad – Bo Newman.

What’s new? Well I’ve recently published the new “The Cat Album ’14” here with two new songs and five new takes of the songs from the original “The Cat Album”, which was published back in 2001. The new album contains the other songs from the original album too as they were recorded then. I’ve also been working on re-recording songs from the The Sandhill Waltz” using my new equipment, so it’s being updated as I go too. Still, though I’m using “better” recording equipment these days, I’m not shelving the earlier “lo-fi” stuff of mine, and Google Play is great as an avenue to make them available.

One of My Homies (Explicit)

By

Shawn Chrystopher

About the artist

Every rapper that’s actually good at what he does in an intellectual,” says a laid back Shawn Chrystopher from his hotel room in NYC’s Times Square. “Wayne is an intellectual, Jay of course is a intellectual, listen to the things he says its like “How’d you think of that?” Speaking with the tone of a man who’s used to thinking things through, it’s not hard to see which side of the line he falls on. But then again, a quick look into his past shows why that’s never been the case. Graduating high school at the age of sixteen and being offered a four and a half year scholarship to the University of Southern California, Shawn’s future potential, much like his IQ, was truly sky high. But while his peers were still managing their acne, the Inglewood California native was fully focused on a future in music making, mastering five different instruments and building the writing, rapping and production skills that would make him a Hip-Hop All-star. “I was in school band from 7th grade to 12th grade,” he quickly points out.” So we learned music theory and all those things.” Not one to be limited to the classroom, Shawn was also drawn to the production lessons taught by master musician Quincy, via his work with the King of pop. “When he’d do things for Michael Jackson, he would have instruments on different sides so if you listen on the headphones, the strings are on the left and the horns are on the right,” he says with an excited grin. “Stuff that you may not pay attention to but I catch like “Yo that’s crazy!”

Honing his production method, Shawn soon developed the sound that would catapult him into the spotlight. “I use those 808’s that knock the speakers out, it has the substance of the Midwest with the instrumentation of the south,” he says detailing his process. “I would describe it as the new west coast, real high energy and real passionate.” With a signature sound and an introspective, melodic rap style influenced by the late great Tupac Shakur and Midwest marauders Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Shawn had all he needed to create his debut project, 2009’s A City With No Seasons, which would go on to receive rave reviews from OKPlayer.com and HipHopOfficial.com. When it’s all said and done, there is no substitute for the grind. A lesson Shawn got while promoting his project. “One thing I’ve learned is no one going to sell you if you can’t sell yourself,” he says of the work that would have him and his team on their computers for up to 14 hours a day in search of the next gig. “If you want these opportunities, you have to go out and get them.” Thanks to his online presence (over 2.5 million views to date) Shawn became the star of his first ever tour that he’d built from the ground up with sponsorship by the artist-friendly website, MySpace. “People would be like “Who else is on the tour?” and I’d be like “just me,” he says with a laugh.
Being a self-made man, people often wonder why he would bother entertaining offers from the majors that came calling after his March 2010 release The Audition EP scored over 35,000 downloads in its first week. But to those who would question him, he simply asks them to look at the bigger picture. “When a painter does a painting, he wants everyone to see it. So if I’m doing music I want everyone to hear it, and labels can put you on that main stage.” When asked about the well-known pitfalls of signing to a machine, Shawn simply shrugs like a man expecting the question. “I know there are politics,” he says earnestly. “But sometimes you have to swallow your pride for your art.”

There are plenty of things that bother Shawn Chrystopher about the music business. The lack of true artist development by labels, the rush of one-hit wonders diluting the world of Hip-Hop, the reoccurring philosophies of money over art that overwhelm the radio station. But the one thought that ruffles the feathers of the artist who has crafted his every step toward success, is the assumption that true MC’s are not thinking class musicians. “I think I try to be too intellectual when I don’t have to be,” he says shaking his head. “I do that purposely to separate myself, but I don’t think that’s anything extraordinary,” he says with a proud smile. “I put it out there more, but we’re all smart.”

About the artist

‘Odaroo’ (read in Japanese romaji, pronounced o-dah-roh), also known as Jeff Lo, is a Montreal born and raised multi-instrumentalist who enjoys ciphering life ventures into peculiar soundtracks. Starting at a young age, he was introduced to the piano and gradually stepped into the world of percussion where he started learning and experimenting with new musical layers.
Being the co-founder of the Montreal psychedelic rock band ‘LHEPPE’, also being part of several projects and initiatives such as ‘The Superstitions’ and ‘The Victoria Turner Solo Project’ over the years allowed him to grasp different perspectives of several genres expanding his musical palette. In 2011 he started the ‘Improginarium’ series in which consisted of 3 volumes experimenting mainly with samples and originals, mostly focusing on composition and architecturing melodious structures, narrating a story from one track to another. Since then, sculpting new sounds and innovating new patterns have been his precedence, his essence toward spontaneous creation.
