MR Somebody

By

Mos-B

About the artist

Mos-B is an inspiring and a great singer-songwriter that resides in France. He Sings, write, produced at his home studio, plays guitar and performs! His approach to music has an International appeal. That might one day take his career to a higher level in the global scene. He has performed professionally on big stages and small stages across Europe and has won the heart of his fans everywhere he performs. Growing up in a musical environment has shaped his taste for music. Music has been his life, and all he wanted to do, is sing, sing, sing. Music makes him happy and it’s like medicine that goes straight to the heart. His first solo album ‘1000 MILES’is now available. Mos-B is a young, creative and highly talented song writer, performing artist and entertainer. His career started when he sang a duet, and tour with Dutch’s most famous Musician, Trijntje Oosterhuis. 2004 and 2006 for 20,000 People. He was born in Sierra Leone to a musical mother and grew up with a deep thirst for making music. From his mother he learnt traditional songs and listening a lot from the radio. He started making music and writing songs using drums, cups and such household utensils. He became obsessed with the guitar from the very first time he was exposed to one. To learn to play the guitar became everything to him. – a very focused, highly motivated and determined person.

He rapidly learnt to make music on the guitar but then he also realized that he needed to learn more. He moved to Freetown where he finished his basic education and completed a course in a Performing Art College, as a Singer/songwriter and a Producer. From those initial steps in his native village, the 18 miles, and then Freetown, He has not only mastered the tools such as the guitar, but he has also become a maestro of creative and performing arts. He is now an established song-writer, artist and entertainer. This is the story of the “1000Miles”. Mos-B journey that started in his native village in Sierra Leone has taken him through a thousand miles. The journey exposed him to different music worlds; shaped his music tastes, ideas, styles and have defined the distinctive voice and the feel good mood in his music. His type of music is a fusion of the rhythms, philosophies and lyrics typical of the journey. These are detectable in the rhythms and lyrics of the music – things which make his music sound warm, original and really fresh. Just listen to the tracks “Mr. Somebody”, “Sweet Salone” or “Keep on keeping on”, “1000 Miles” or “Your Love”. You will notice that you really cannot easily classify these tracks in any of the established music categories. The theme is definitely set. We sure will get more tracks from the thousand miles journey. The journey continues. He is increasingly featured on popular radio and TV channels and the press in Sierra Leone, the Gambia and the USA. His  recently released album is a hit especially among his compatriot Sierra Leoneans. The tracks are regularly played on Voice of America Show [Africa Beat] and Unique Radio (the Gambia). Salone Radio in the USA awarded him as the Artist of the month December 2009. 2013 he was awarded best vocalist on the Emergenza international music festival in France. In Sierra Leone, eight radio stations including Radio UNAMSIL (station created by the UN Peace Keeping Force) regularly play his tracks! His track ’’Feel Alright” “Mr. Somebody” sums the present stage of the journey: the introduction! His new album “1000 Miles” is highly rated and recommended for easy listening. Broken Whispers (Entire Album) (Explicit)

By

Anto

About the artist

“Anto . . . is an amazing musician and vocalist and has the talent to do anything he wants to do and to go anywhere he wants to go.” – Mark Lewis, Rock Over America “The music business is a mystery now. Every rule has changed and the way people find music and follow artists is completely different than just a few years ago.” Anto just released his latest single, “Don’t Give a Damn” and while he hadn’t planned on being an independent artist, the change in the industry has given him opportunities he didn’t expect. “Being independent is never boring! I love that I have to learn so much. One minute I’m writing code for a website and the next minute I’m in the studio, producing a song.” Once signed with the famous German studio, House of Music Entertainment, Anto and his band Summerline collaborated with industry professionals like director Robert Broellochs (Melanie C, Shaggy, The Cure etc.). One of their songs was featured in the music film documentary, “God Smoked”. “Everything was a whirlwind and it was very exciting but the industry changed so quickly and suddenly we were making plans for a world that didn’t exist anymore.”

Summerline parted ways and although Anto liked the comradery of being onstage with a band, he knew it was time to go solo. “I know some people feel like there are too many independent artists out there now so no one is getting heard, and it is hard but I love that it allows musicians to be free. I don’t have to fit into a mold, I can be myself.” Lately he has collaborated with the director and producer, Piergiuseppe Zaia, the founder of Master Track Productions. Anto was born in Milan, Italy but taught himself English. He also taught himself to play piano and has composed music in genres ranging from punk to pop to orchestral pieces for soundtracks. “I’m still learning. One of my regrets is that I didn’t receive any formal training about how to make music. Everything just came from my heart and I’ve learned the technical stuff along the way.” Equipped with a diploma in Audio Engineering from the SAE Institute, he has been as hands-on with his music as possible. “I want to let the world hear what’s in my head; I want it to be real. The more I learn, the more I know who I am and what I want my music to say.” Songs from his first two EPs and his newest single “Don’t Give a Damn” have played on independent radio stations across Europe and the United States, and he’s been reviewed and interviewed by magazines in countries as diverse as Russia, Germany and his homeland of Italy.“Standing on a stage and looking out at people who respond to my music, watching them move and feel what I’m doing, it’s the only sensation I understand completely.” “WOW this is brilliant one of my favorite artists so far…image is wicked, vocals great, songs excellent, hooks all over the place, with a strong production… I am amazed at the tone of the vocals, can’t wait to hear more, Anto has a huge future if handled right.” – Andros Georgiou, AGE

Bad Apples (Entire Album) (Explicit)

By

Gentlemen & Scholars

About the artist

Gentlemen and Scholars, the four piece band from Evansville, IN, is composed of Jeremiah Galey (vocals/guitar), Shane Strickland (bass), Kyle Burchett (drums), and Patrick Brady (guitar/keyboards). They have been writing and releasing music under the Gentlemen and Scholars moniker for the past nine years, but the band’s origin dates back nearly 15 years to when Galey, Brady, and Burchett first started their elementary school “jam sessions”. It became apparent, quite early on, that these three shared a passion for music that is rarely seen today. Let’s fast forward nearly 10 years through countless band names, song titles, and gigs, to the year 2008. Gentlemen and Scholars first album, The Record, The Keepsake, and the Thief, was released independently in March of that year, and followed up by multiple, small US tours. A few short months later, Gentlemen and Scholars began seeking out partnership opportunities with a number of indie record labels. In October of 2008, they chose to sign with Torque Records, a sub-label of Victory Records, which put them on the fast track to releasing their label debut and follow up to The Record, The Keepsake, and the Thief. Unfortunately, as things we so desire often are, the partnership between Torque Records and Gentlemen and Scholars was short-lived and hardly satisfying. After dealing with a virtually non-existent and extremely rushed recording schedule, followed by the unforeseen release date delay, morale was low. But, such was the music industry. After the short-lived partnership with Torque Records, the label behind Gentlemen and Scholars’ 2009’s album The Fault, the boys made the decision to, once again, take matters into their own hands. They independently booked numerous tours to support their sophomore album and completely funded each tour through merchandise sales or from their own pockets. In 2011, Gentlemen and Scholars self-produced, recorded, and funded their third effort, Bad Apples. Shortly after they released Bad Apples for free, Gentlemen and Scholars inked a publishing deal with Gas Can Music. It wasn’t long after teaming up with Gas Can that Gentlemen and Scholars had their single, Groove Belly, featured in a Forever 21 commercial.

Given the ever changing state of the music industry, Gentlemen and Scholars continued with their decision to remain an independent band. They released their fourth album, Thick As Mud, on March 19th, 2013, and since its release, Thick As Mud has received praise from publications such as The Equal Ground and Rock Thiz magazine. Today, Gentlemen and Scholars are hard at work preparing for their currently untitled fifth studio release. In October of 2014, the boys took some much deserved time off from live shows to finish building their recording studio, which they see as the next step in their career. “We’ve never done something like this,” says vocalist Jeremiah Galey. “We put our first album out in 2008, and we’ve never really stopped to take a break from touring and performing live since then. We’ve taken a few weeks off to record each album, but we’ve never made time to focus solely on writing an album together. We’ve always just sort of written songs as we went, and when it was time to do a new album, we’d polish everything up and take a week or two to get everything tracked. Then, it’d be right back to performing live. We all agreed that it was imperative that we take some time to lay the ground work for our future as a band.” This may sound like a lot of additional work to most, but Gentlemen and Scholars insist that it’s all necessary for growth. “We want to be capable of creating as many opportunities for ourselves as possible,” says guitarist Patrick Brady. “We do our best to keep everything in-house, and there’s so much more to us than simply writing, recording, and playing shows. We’re 100% responsible for all tour and gig booking. We design our own merchandise, film and produce our own music videos, and we record and produce our own albums. At the end of the day, we know that we’re responsible for almost every opportunity that comes along. If something doesn’t go well, we can’t blame anyone but ourselves. That outlook and approach also makes every positive advancement infinitely more rewarding, if you ask me.” Gentlemen and Scholars have set out to make a fulfilling career for themselves. With an ever-growing fan base, a new album on the way, and an original web series in development, these boys don’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
