The set’s epic “Living for the City” shows that Stevie Wonder’s positivity (like Louis Armstrong’s) was hard-won and partially fed by the joy creating music brought him. Spiritually and sonically, the song illustrates why Wonder’s work is universally admired by his peers and followers in soul, rock and jazz.
