Though the legacy of gangsta rap pioneers N.W.A. was just beginning to take shape in 1987, their sound and swagger was almost fully formed. On it, Eazy offers a brash panorama of Compton delinquency—from malt liquor swigs to fistfights with cops—all bolstered by Dr. Dre’s drum machine thump.
