ELIGIBILITY: This sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the continental United States and the District of Columbia, 18 years or older at the time of entry and shall be governed solely by U.S. law. Residents of New York, Florida, Rhode Island, Alaska, and Hawaii are not eligible to enter. Employees and their immediate families, including household members, of Ghirardelli Chocolate Company and its sponsoring partners (“Sponsors”), its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: If you are entering online, you must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail account prior to May 15th, 2012 by which the entry is made. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. All entries become the property of Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements. You will be required to indicate your agreement with these Official Rules before your Submission will be submitted. Neither Sponsors, nor their respective advertising and promotion agencies, nor any telephone network or service providers are responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any website or online service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, misdirected, illegible or postage due entries. One Grand Prize winner and a guest will be whisked away to San Francisco for a weekend of pure chocolate decadence.

HOW TO ENTER: This sweepstakes begins on 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) on May 15, 2012 and ends on 11:59 p.m. PST on July 31, 2012 (the “Entry Period”). Only one entry per person. Only valid entries will be accepted. You can enter this sweepstakes by one of the following means:
- Online entry: Enter by visiting www.ghirardelli.com/chocolatefestival, (the “Website”), during the Entry Period and complete the online registration form, including your name, email address, address, city, state, zip code, and daytime phone number and click the “submit” button.
- In-Store entry: Enter by visiting one of the participating Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop locations and complete an entry form. View store locations at http://www.ghirardelli.com/locations-events/ghirardelli-locations
PRIZES: There will be one (1) Grand Prize Winner who will win the following: round-trip coach (economy) class air transportation from a major commercial airport in the continental U.S. closest to the winner’s residence (selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion) for themselves and one (1) guest; two (2) nights standard hotel accommodations in San Francisco; a cable car ride for two (2) provided by SFMTA; two (2) sampling tickets for The 17th Annual Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival (2012); two (2) tickets for a Sunset Cruise with Red & White Fleet Cruises; and a basket full of Ghirardelli Chocolates. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Grand Prize: $3038.00. Actual retail value of the Grand Prize depends on the date, time, and point of departure of the winner’s flight. Any difference between the stated ARV and actual value will not be awarded. Grand Prize Winner and Guest are solely responsible for checked baggage fees, food and beverage, gratuities, other incidental hotel expenses and other expenses not listed in these Official Rules. Grand Prize Winner and Guest must travel from one departure location and must travel on the same itinerary. Travel must take place on Friday, Sept 7, 2012 and Sunday, Sept 9, 2012. If Grand Prize Winner resides within a 100-mile radius of San Francisco, ground transportation may be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided for any difference in prize value. Two (2) Second Place winners will receive the second-place prize of a Ghirardelli Chocolate Gift Basket with an ARV of $180.00. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitutions are allowed.
Odds of winning are based on the number of entries received from online entries and in-store entries. By accepting the prize, you will consent to Ghirardelli Chocolate Company’s use of your name for promotional purposes, including online announcements, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. No prize substitution, cash substitution, or assignment or transfer of prizes is permitted, except by Ghirardelli Chocolate Company for reason of unavailability in which a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. All prizes will be awarded. All potential winners must meet all eligibility requirements set forth in these Official Rules to qualify for a prize
