With a title presumably inspired by the Adam Sandler movie, “Punch Drunk Love” finds Common and Kanye West wooing the ladies. Pharrell Williams makes a loping 2/4 synthesizer rhythm, and syncopates his vocal to the beat. It nearly overshadows the two rappers, who deliberately scale back their considerable lyrical talents for good-natured rhymes about girls “giving them the eye.”
